Doing chores in Africa verse America

There are many differences between ways of doing chores in Africa versus in America.  In Africa, people by the age of seven years old pretty much know the importance of working in the house, but in America, most kids at that age do not know. Africa and America are far away on the map, so we have many different and similar ways of doing chores.

The kinds of chores are very different from Africa and America. In Africa, we use sweepers and brooms to clean the floor. We mop the floor using hands and the person bends down to do it. We separate dishes when we wash them. We dry the clothes outside of the house. We also use our hands to wash our clothes, but a person who has a lot of money can use the washing machine.  In America, people use washing machines to wash clothes and to dry them. People use lawn mowers to cut the yard that surrounds the house or neighborhood. Even though all the equipment looks different to do chores in America and in Africa, we accomplish the work.  Whoever does the chores feels much pain afterward.

In Africa, most of our daughters and sons are more responsible doing chores, but here in U.S. most mothers do them.  In America, daughters and sons can be lazy to do chores and to them are the most horrible things to do. Kids in America hate to do chores, but tell them to go to the mall, play video games, go on the computer, talk on the phone or eat, and that will make them excited.

The attitude of doing work between these two continents is totally different.  Sometimes in the U.S some girls and boys expect an allowance after doing chores, while in Africa there is absolutely no such thing. In Africa, most daughters feel happy with joy because they start doing the work of the house when they were young. In America some parents do not care if their daughters do not do their chores.  American parents are not as strict as African parents.  In my opinion, children should not get paid, but instead work for free.

In brief, In Africa boys and girls work harder than America, but that is just my opinion. Most of the people in America stereotype Africa, but one thing I can say is to come and see for yourself how people are working hard. You will be amazed.
